Charting Your Course: From Today to the Life You Want
Here I sit on a Saturday night, listening to a training for my online business and thinking about what to share with you today. Normally, I’d have a calendar of planned topics mapped out, each one aiming to bring some value. But tonight, nothing on that list felt quite right. So, here I am, just sharing honestly.
It’s a warm night, dinner’s done, and I’m in work mode. Let me give you a bit of context—I’m an older girl now, and going out on a Saturday night doesn’t appeal much anymore. After a week at work, I’d rather wind down. It wasn’t a hard week, but balancing a job, the commute, and then diving into my business afterward can be exhausting. Still, if I took the night off every time I felt tired, that dream I’m building would slip further and further away. Each day I skip is another delay on the road to where I want to go.
Reflecting on that commitment reminded me of a question worth asking: Where are you right now in your life? And maybe more importantly, where do you want to go?
Acknowledge Your Reality
Where you are now is the starting point. I think many of us feel this underlying pressure to have already “arrived” by a certain age, as if success has a deadline. But reality check: everyone’s path looks different. Life’s twists and turns have brought you here, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Acknowledging this doesn’t mean giving up or settling; it’s about understanding where you’re starting from, so you can navigate forward. Just like any journey, knowing your starting point is essential to reaching your destination.
Define Your Destination
Knowing where you want to go is more than half the battle. For years, I had a general idea of what I wanted—financial freedom, control over my time, and the flexibility to work on something meaningful. But it took clarity to turn those ideas into something actionable. So, ask yourself: what does your ideal life look like? Is it about freedom, financial security, or perhaps finally having time for yourself and your passions?
We all have dreams, but turning those dreams into a destination takes some honesty. For me, building my business isn’t just about income; it’s a way to secure a future that doesn’t rely solely on traditional work. It’s a choice to build something that brings me closer to my ideal life.
The Power of a Plan
Knowing your destination is a good start, but you need a roadmap to get there. This year, I joined a 90-day challenge—not because it was easy but because I knew I needed to push myself. With a new job starting at the same time, it was intimidating. I could have easily made excuses, but I signed on anyway. That choice stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.
The beauty of a plan is that it gives structure to your goals, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone. We started with small steps, like connecting with groups of like-minded people. Each week, the tasks grew. We created our own webinars, conducted interviews, and teamed up with women I’d never met to launch a masterclass. We all had different strengths, yet together, we achieved something powerful.
That experience reminded me that real growth comes from taking action, not waiting for the “right time” or hoping success will show up on its own. No one’s path is perfect, and that’s fine. What’s important is that you’re showing up, doing the work, and moving forward.
Staying Motivated When It’s Tough
Look, there are days when working on my business feels like a chore. Some evenings, after a long day, the last thing I want to do is dig back into work. But I’ve come to see these moments as choice points. Each time I push through, I’m choosing my future over temporary comfort.
This might be something you’ve felt, too—that resistance to taking action when the couch and a TV show seem like the more appealing option. When I remind myself why I started and where I want to go, that resistance softens a bit. It’s okay to feel tired or unmotivated, but those feelings don’t have to steer your ship.
Finding Strength in Community
One thing that has been invaluable in this journey is community. Working alongside like-minded people, especially other women in my age bracket, has been uplifting in ways I didn’t expect. Community is more than just camaraderie; it’s about surrounding yourself with people who understand your vision and are there to support it. For older women, finding a group of peers with similar goals and values can be an incredible source of strength.
Each week, I get to learn from women who are also pushing their limits, breaking down their own barriers, and moving toward something better. We celebrate wins, encourage each other through tough days, and share our knowledge. If you’re feeling isolated or unsure, finding a community can help. Knowing you’re not alone in your journey can make all the difference.
More Than Just Financial Success
When I first started, I came in for the income potential. And it’s true, the compensation plan is fantastic. But over time, I’ve realized there’s so much more to gain than money. I’ve learned new skills in marketing, mindset, and business automation. I’ve been able to create something personal, meaningful, and aligned with my values.
Beyond that, I’ve gained products that improve my own health, benefit my cats, and reduce my environmental impact. For example, I used to rely on bottled water, which created so much plastic waste. Now, I drink hydrogen-rich, antioxidant-filled water that I love—and my pets benefit from it too.
It’s funny how something that started as an income source has grown into a part of my life I genuinely care about. The satisfaction of knowing I’m building a future while living in a way that reflects my values? That’s something money can’t buy.
Your Invitation to Explore
If anything in this resonates with you, I invite you to learn more. I’m hosting a personal webinar—just me, sharing honestly about my journey and what I’ve found in this business. There’s no polish, no script, just real talk. I want to share this opportunity because it’s changed my life, and maybe it could change yours, too. The webinar is just a chance for you to listen, learn, and decide if it feels right for you.
